Elder Alvin Anthony Murdock, Sr., passed away on June 17, 2026. He was born on July 5, 1959.

Elder Murdock served as Founder and Pastor of Saved By Grace Ministries for over 30 years. Pastoring was his entire life, and he devoted himself faithfully to serving the Lord and ministering to others. He also worked for the City of Roanoke for over 35 years, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Bertha Ree Marsh Fraline and Melvin Fraline; his sister, Kathy Murdock; his brothers, Michael A. Murdock, Alfred Murdock, and Robert L. Murdoch; and his brothers-in-law, Dennis Staples and Glenn Billingsley.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Alvin Murdock, Jr.; his grandchildren, Trequan Cotton, Aaminy Williams, Tazyiah Henderson, Lawon Jones, Aynah Campbell, and Shaveon Murdock; six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Rachel Staples, Darleen Fralin, and Janice A. Billingsley; his brother, Melvin L. Fralin; and his sister-in-law, Rose Murdock.

A service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Saved by Grace Ministries, 4752 Read Mountain Rd., Cloverdale, Virginia 24019.

Elder Murdock will be remembered for his lifelong devotion to ministry, his love for the Lord, and the many lives he touched through his faith and service.
