Apostle Allan Sims, State Licensed and Ordained Minister of God

March 25, 1951 - November 30, 2024

It is with profound sadness and abiding hope in God's promises that we announce the passing of Apostle Allan Sims, a man of unwavering faith, boundless love, and a heart wholly devoted to serving God, his family, and his fellow man. He entered into eternal rest on November 30, 2024, surrounded by loved ones who will forever cherish the legacy he leaves behind. Born on March 25, 1951, in Coalwood, West Virginia, Allan Sims lived a life that exemplified his deep and abiding relationship with God. From an early age, he devoted himself to living in accordance with God's teachings, embodying Christ's love and compassion in every facet of his life. Growing up, he was a faithful member of Mount Airy Baptist Church. He graduated from Big Creek High School in War, West Virginia in 1970 with a Diploma in Vocation Technology and Offset Printing. Later he attended the Pentecostal Mission Deliverance church.

In 1974, after graduating from Eden Bible school in Columbus, Ohio he entered the ministry full-time, becoming state licensed and ordained. Alongside his wife, minister and Prophetess Denise Gillon Sims, he served as the Founder and Leader of Last Days Ministries Church through a contract with  the Salem Civic Center, in Salem, VA.  for almost twenty years, only changing platforms due to the Pandemic. The ministry focused on proclaiming the truth of God's Word, offering encouragement, wisdom, salvation, and prayer to All in need. He focused on an Outreach Ministry for souls in need, of all walks of life, saved or unsaved, in the community and local restaurants. Apostle Sims was a devoted husband to his beloved "Bunnie," Denise Sims, with whom he shared a 54-year marriage rooted in love, faith, and partnership. Together, they built a family that reflects their commitment to faith and one another. He was a loving father to Sharon Lanelle Lawrence (Sims), Angeline Jahanna Sims, and Regina Michele Sims, and a doting grandfather ("Paw Paw") to Olivia Denise Lawrence.

His love extended far beyond his family, as he viewed every person as a child of God, worthy of respect, care, and compassion. Whether through random acts of kindness, providing financial blessings to those in need, volunteering his time, mentoring youth, or visiting the sick and shut-in, Apostle Allan Sims touched countless lives with his generosity and kind spirit. He had a special concern for both the spiritual and physical well-being of others, always ready to share his faith, offer a helping hand, or simply listen with an open heart. Those who knew Apostle Sims will remember him for his quiet strength, warm smile, and unwavering trust in the Lord's plan. He used his extraordinary artistic talents to create and design shirts bearing messages of truth and inspiration. These one-of-a-kind "legacy shirts" not only showcased his creativity but also conveyed his desire to spread the message of salvation and the imminent return of Christ. These cherished designs will continue to provide comfort and hope to those he blessed with his work, and talent, on loan from God.

Apostle Sims was preceded in death by his parents, David Steve Sims Sr. and Pearline Sims. He is survived by his immediate family; his brother, David Steve Sims Jr.; his sister, Rosetta Balams (Sims); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

A celebration of Apostle Allan Sims's life will be held on Friday, December 6, at 3:00pm at Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Service, officiated by Pastor Robert C. McCaskill of The Apostolic Lighthouse Temple Church in Columbus, OH

"His Lord said unto him, 'Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord.'" (Matthew 25:21)

Apostle Sims will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched and the faith he so fervently shared, without price.
